The Sims

I Think The Sims is a great example of a video game with an Interactive three-dimensional environment.Although the Sims does not use real time, it has its own method of keeping track time with a custom clock. The allows you to move around through the city and interact with different things. "The first person perspective increased the importance of off-screen space because it positioned the player within the space, subjctively as opposed to the third-person objective view in earlier games" (Page 66). The Sims uses the ablitiy to select on one player and control them through multiple stages in there lives from what they wear to where they work. The Sims also has meaningful play, because it keeps users playing for hours and hours. But unlike most video games the Sims does not have a correct way to play the game. According to TMOTVG, " Most Video games, require players to know their way around th diegetic world in order to be successful in the game."( page 67) The Sims seems to have an unwritten rule which you can free style our way through the game and still be taking care of business. I feel the Sims uses interactive three-demensional environment.
